Working at depth using art therapy with people who have challenging and complex issues

  • CAMBRIDGESHIRE MUSIC Mayfield Road Huntingdon, England, PE29 United Kingdom (map)

A CPD course for Arts Therapists. Enhancing your skills working with the hard to reach.

To enhance your CPD profile, expand your working knowledge and connect with experienced colleagues, come along to this day course run by me, Alison hawtin.

With over twenty years as an art therapist, and a lifetime (which I will explain on the day) of people contact - I have developed a subtle and instinctive connection with depth work; working with and within the non-verbal aspects of the interaction between myself, the client/patient/person, and the world. Communicating through the kaleidoscopic lense of the body, mind and environment.

You will learn in a parallel, multi-sensory way:

Verbally/professionally: through sharing cases of concern and note

Visually/viscerally: through watching video, seeing stills and hearing descriptions of a varied caseload of complex and challenging art therapy work

Practically/relational: engaging in depth work practise (n pairs/triads and group).

Intellectually/analytically: We will explore, analyse and contemplate the therapeutic decisions we make

Physically: Through making art - in response to case work, experiences on the day

Systemically: through considering micro and macro context and experiences

£85 pp. Early bird rate if you book by April 19th is £75
